Trendi Child Safety Policy
Applicable to: Trendi Global and Trendi Australia
1. Age Verification and Access
Global:
Users must be at least 13 years old to create an account.
Users under 13 are not permitted to use the standard version of Trendi. A restricted version may be considered in the future, designed for younger audiences with parental oversight.
Australia (Compliant with Online Safety Act 2021):
Users under 18 may be required to verify their age or obtain parental consent.
Trendi enforces age-appropriate default settings for users under 18, such as private profiles and limited communication features.
2. Prohibited Content
Trendi strictly prohibits the following content and behavior on its platform, especially in relation to minors:
Sexual content, grooming, or exploitation
Bullying, threats, or harassment
Encouragement or depiction of self-harm or suicide
Sharing of personal information (e.g., location, school, contact details)
Exposure to age-inappropriate questions, answers, or discussions
All content is monitored by automated systems and reviewed by human moderators when flagged.
3. Moderation and Reporting
Trendi uses a combination of AI moderation tools and human review to identify and remove harmful content.
All users can report inappropriate content or behavior through the app’s built-in reporting feature.
Reports involving potential child safety violations are reviewed within 24 hours.
Accounts that violate child safety standards are subject to warnings, suspensions, or permanent bans.
4. Parental Controls and Transparency
Trendi is exploring the introduction of parent or guardian-linked accounts. These will allow:
Approval of a minor’s account creation
Visibility into questions asked and answered
Control over who can interact with the child’s profile
Notifications will be sent to guardians if a child is involved in high-risk interactions or flagged discussions.
5. Education and Awareness
Trendi provides in-app resources to promote safe online behavior, critical thinking, and respectful communication.
Educational prompts will be included when users engage in sensitive topics.
Trendi will collaborate with international and national safety groups, including:
eSafety Commissioner (Australia)
Childnet, NetSmartz, and other global organizations
6. Australia-Specific Compliance
Trendi aligns with the Children’s eSafety Charter and the Best Practice Framework for Online Safety.
The app supports rapid takedown protocols and will cooperate fully with the eSafety Commissioner when required.
An Australian-based reporting contact is available for urgent matters involving child users.
7. Data Privacy and Protection
Children’s personal data is not sold or shared with third-party advertisers.
Trendi adheres to the following regulations:
GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation)
COPPA (Children's Online Privacy Protection Act)
Australian Privacy Principles (APPs)
All user data is securely encrypted and access is strictly limited.
8. Policy Review and Updates
